Emory responds to guilty verdict in murder of George Floyd
“Although there was accountability today, there is still much left to be done,” President Gregory L. Diversity strategic planning process fueled by a ‘ready’ campus
Under the leadership of Carol Henderson, Emory’s first chief diversity officer, a diversity strategic planning process is giving all major constituencies a voice. Seven communities will share findings for university-wide response in November 2021.

Emory to require student COVID-19 vaccinations for fall 2021
President Gregory L. Fenves has announced that Emory University will require all students to be immunized for COVID-19 for the fall 2021 semester. "Student vaccinations will create a healthier environment in our classrooms, which will be at full density during the fall," Fenves says.

National Science Foundation awards graduate research fellowships to outstanding students, recent grads
The National Science Foundation has awarded coveted Graduate Research Fellowships to several Emory students and recent graduates, including Emory College seniors Kim Sharp, Charlotte Wang and Taylor Dover.

Curran to step down as dean of Rollins School of Public Health
James W. Curran, dean of the Rollins School of Public Health, has announced his plans to step down as dean. He will continue to remain actively engaged in his position until a new dean is selected and arrives.

Commencement 2021 brings in-person ceremonies that keep safety in mind
Learn more about Emory’s Commencement events, slated for May 14-16 at the Georgia World Congress Center. While some aspects of the university’s traditional ceremony must be adjusted to comply with health and safety protocols, many elements will be familiar.

 

U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff named Emory University 2021 Class Day speaker
U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff has been selected as keynote speaker for Emory's Class Day, a student-organized event for students receiving bachelor's degrees at this year's Commencement. Emory's Class Day will be Thursday, May 13, leading into Commencement weekend.

 

Oxford Commencement features Rollins Dean Curran, Ga. Sen. Warnock
James W. Curran, dean of Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, will deliver the Commencement address for Oxford College on May 15. The ceremony also will feature congratulatory remarks to the graduates from U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock.
